I’ll be the first to admit it: numbers, math, and anything remotely “financial” have never been my strength. I’m not naturally analytical, I’m not spatial, and without GPS, I’d likely still be circling the same block.
So when I transitioned out of teaching and into running my own consulting business, it became very clear, very quickly that I couldn’t do it alone. I needed real expertise around finances: managing expenses, setting goals, projecting growth, and making smart decisions for the long-term health of the business.
Shortly after college, I was introduced to Judy Johnson, who became my personal accountant. Judy was not only exceptional at her work, she became a trusted partner and a lifelong friend. Over time, she also took on my corporate accounting, guiding me through the complexities of growing a business.
When Judy began preparing for retirement, she did something incredibly generous: she helped me find the right next partner. Not just anyone, but someone who could handle the complexities of an S-Corp with employees and contractors across more than 25 states. That kind of care and continuity is rare.
That search led me to Rebecca Rhodes.
Rebecca, based in Western Kentucky (though we work entirely remotely), has been an outstanding fit for Cairn Guidance. She collaborates seamlessly with our CFO, COO, financial planner, and 401(k) team, ensuring our financial decisions are thoughtful, aligned, and strategic. From navigating multi-state registered agent requirements to advising on decisions like profit-sharing, Rebecca brings both expertise and partnership to the table.
If you’re looking for a trusted, women-owned accounting partner who can meet you where you are, and grow with you- I highly recommend Rebecca Rhodes.
