My name is Sterling Ta’Bon, and I am the Healthy Schools Manager at Cairn Guidance. I live in Sumter, South Carolina. As a student, I was interested in how building relationships lead to more perspective and outcomes. During the winter and spring of 2022, the Cairn Guidance team reviewed multiple textbooks, curricula, and resources for the Bend-La Pine School District in Deschutes County Oregon.  In June, 2022, our team facilitated an in-person, two-day Skills-Based Health Education Standards and Assessment training with health educators in the district, followed by a third day creating a K-12 health education scope and sequence (based on CDCs HECAT), followed by a fourth day of reviewing curricula Read ▸ about Health Education Curriculum Reviews

Riley Peyton is currently attending Morehead State University while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and a minor in Business. Our role is to blaze a path to student success as guides for schools and community partners to implement the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) approach. We share a common goal with school, family and community stakeholders to ensure that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged to achieve their full potential. Cairn Guidance is excited to work on a new project with Shine Light on Depression to raise awareness around childhood and teen depression and suicide. Shine Light on Depression offers no-cost, key-turning resources to support the mental health of youth in both in-school and after-school settings.  2022 Shine Light on Depression Ambassadors As mental health advocates, Cairn Guidance hired and trained ambassadors who are “boots-on-the-ground” to further support the work with the Shine Read ▸ about Shine Light on Depression
