Author: Brittany Echols, Health Education Curriculum Manager at Cairn Guidance
As I reflect on my journey over the past few years, I feel immense gratitude for the incredible opportunities and people who have shaped my work. Working at Cairn Guidance has been an enriching experience—one filled with deep learning, meaningful collaboration, and a shared commitment to equity-driven health education. From supporting state and district initiatives to building capacity for comprehensive school health, my time with Cairn has allowed me to grow as a professional and as a champion for student and educator well-being.
I would like to share that I’ll be taking the next step in this journey as the new Instructional Specialist for Health Education with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). This role aligns with my passion for creating systems that support the whole child. I’m excited to be part of a team deeply invested in equity, student voice, and culturally responsive education—and to support schools and educators across the district in implementing robust, inclusive health education programs.
Though I’m stepping away from Cairn Guidance, I carry with me everything I’ve learned: the power of data to tell stories, the importance of relationships in driving change, and the joy that comes from working in service of healthier, stronger school communities. I want to extend heartfelt thanks to the Cairn team and all of the individuals I’ve had the privilege to work with during this chapter.
Here’s to the next chapter—and to continuing the work of centering health, equity, and wellness in all we do.
With gratitude,
Brittany Echols
