I’m thrilled to announce the re-launch of my school health consulting business. We have a new identity and some new areas of expertise, including youth advocacy, positive youth development and a School Health Guidelines trainer for CDC.
This launch coincides with the American School Health Association’s 86th annual convention in San Antonio, Texas. It is my eighth consecutive ASHA conference and the theme of this year’s conference really resonates with me- Making Connections; The People, Passion and Promise of School Health. As always, I’m looking forward to my own professional development, networking and socializing, but most importantly re-connecting with my colleagues from around the country who work with me day in and day out to make schools healthier places for the larger school community.
I’m looking forward to attending the ASHA opening reception this week to hear many of my mentors and colleagues recognized for their fabulous work in our field. Some of the workshops I hope to attend include topics such as school employee wellness, the National Sexuality Education Standards, use of photo voice in alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and workshops focused on addressing health disparities.
I hope to see many of you in San Antonio, and for those that will not be in attendance, I hope to be in touch very soon!
Jess
